A seminar was organized by Shikhar Organization to brainstorm over the scope of CSR for promoting Art, Culture and Heritage. Sonalika Tractors HR Head Lopmudra Priyadarshni also participated in the discussions and enlightened the gathering with her views.

Ten News spoke to Lopmudra on the sidelines of the event to understand her views on the issue, she said, ” CSR under companies act has been made a mandate but instead I believe that in the right way the companies should do it heartfuly by themselves. If we are talking about heritage then every company must heartfuly do it by themselves because if we are preserving our culture and heritage than we are not doing it for anyone else but for ourselves. It is our country and our heritage and we have a responsibility towards it. I also suggest that government should create a corpus fund where all companies must contribute at least some small amount towards this cause. So there must be a mandate that some X amount must be spent on environment or heritage kind of important things. If things aren’t mandated this way then every company will only spent its CSR fund in their specific areas of interest which will hamper the idea of holistic development. Apart from this there is also a need of individual social responsibility where every individual must do something in their capacity towards such causes”.

On being asked about her views on the recent controversy that erupted after the adoption of Red Fort by Dalmia group she said, ” I believe that criticism is a good thing. From there everyone gets to give some suggestion. If it has been given for adoption it is a good thing. It is now upto Dalmia group to prove its metal and pave a way for others. Criticism should be taken ads learning, they should think that people have said so and hence these are some aspects that should be taken care of by the concerned company”.
