New Delhi: Cutting of 16,500 trees in the name of development of the city has taken a political colour now. And every party BJP, Congress and AAP is in rush to prove themselves as an environment lover.

Mounting attack on BJP and Lieutenant Governor, AAP on Sunday said that Ministry of Environment and LG have approved the proposal to cut 16,500 in the city despite knowing the pollution and weather condition of the city.

Showing documents of their claim AAP spokesperson, Saurabh Bhardwaj said that Minister of Environment, Harsh Vardhan and LG Anil Baijal have approved the project and BJP is showing crocodile’s tear to gain sympathy.”
As per the party’s claim, earlier the officials were sending files in the small numbers like 500 to 600 which is a normal figure but when the file of 11,000 tress came at once, this was a huge number in a city like Delhi”.
“When the file came to Delhi government, AAP minister pointed out and expressed his disagreement and wrote to the officials concerns but it fell into deaf ears,” he added.

Talking about the Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari’s claim that cutting these tress are necessary for the development of the area and most of the tress will be shifted to other location, “Manoj Tiwari is lying about it. He has no clue over the issue. 16,500 trees will be uprooted but not a single could be shifted to other place.”
To register disappointment over the move, locals of Sarojni Nagar are holding ‘Chipku Andolan’ followed by candle march to save the threes. “AAP will support this move and will also take part in the event,” added Bharadwaj
