Delhi Congress says no to Saurav Bhardwaj and Atishi as Ministers.
NEW DELHI, March 3, 2023—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar has written to Lt. Governor Shri Vinay Kumar Saxena today, asking him not to accept the recommendation of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to make tainted MLAs Saurav Bhardwaj and Atishi as ministers, following the resignations of corrupt Ministers Satyender Jain and Manish Sisodia, who were involved in the liquor scam, and were in jail and in CBI custody, respectively.
Ch. Anil Kumar appealed to the Lt. Governor not to further ruin the tarnished image of the National Capital, which has already earned the notorious name of the “Capital of Scams” and pollution in the country. He said that the Lt. Governor should ask Kejriwal to suggest the names of two MLAs with clean images from among the 62 AAP legislators for filling up the Ministerial berths.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that both Bhardwaj and Atishi were also in the ambit of the liquor scam probe, and their induction in the Ministry will only legitimize corruption. He said that due to the corruption of Sisodia and Kejriwal, Delhi had earned the notorious image of “Nashe Ki Rajdhani”, and after a CBI probe was ordered into the liquor squam, Delhi also earned the notoriety of the “Capital of Scams”. He said that in the past 10 years, the Kejriwal Government created a serious scams, which put a terrible blot on the nation’s Capital, including the Rs 4288 crore DTC bus purchase and maintenance scam, for buying 1000 low-floor buses. He pointed out that a CBI probe was ordered on the DTC scam following a complaint filed by Delhi Congress. He said that in the liquor scam probe, Transport Minister Kailash Ghelot was also in the ambit of the probe on the Group of Ministers who cleared the implementation of the corrupt liquor policy, though Kejriwal was the master mind of the scam, which was executed by Sisodia on his behalf.
Ch, Anil Kumar said that according to an RTI reply, many Ministers of the Delhi Government and nearly 38 AAP MLAs face over 100 criminal cases for various offences.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that at the behest of Greater Kailash MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj, the liquor liences for Zones 19 and 29 were given to Universal Distributors, whose partner Kamaljit Singh Lamba was Aam Aadmi Party candidate for the 2017 MCD elections from the Chittaranjan Park ward in the Greater Kailash Assembly constituency. He said that Amandeep Dhal, who is No 7 in the CBI FIR on the liquor scam, is a friend of Saurav Bhardwaj, and his group Brindco secured majority of zones in the new liquor policy of the Punjab Government, and out of the Rs 144 crore commission received by Kejriwal in the Delhi liquor scam, Rs 66 crore came from the Brindco group.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Kejriwal Government has ruined the good name of Delhi created by the Congress Government, with its innovative construction of a world class Delhi Metro, world class roads and other infrastructure, to make it a green and clean city, which should not be further eroded by appointing two tainted MLAs as Ministers in place of two other tainted Ministers, who were forced to quit.
