New Delhi, 9 November 2022: The Union Minister and Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi, attacked Arvind Kejriwal and the Delhi government and claimed that the state administration led to poor management of the city’s air pollution problem.

The BJP spokesperson charged the AAP with being utterly careless and disregarding the issues facing local residents. Lekhi claimed that the Delhi government had not used the Rs 1286 crore it had received from citizens as part of the Environment Cess to improve the situation.

“It is disturbing that the Delhi Chief Minister has decided not to serve Delhi. Delhi needs a full-time CM. This part-time CM has shown no concern for Delhi. Delhi’s atmosphere is getting polluted due to their negligence,” she added.

Constantly blaming others for their inaction is for everyone to see, Lekhi alleged.

She also criticised AAP and Kejriwal for failing to give healthcare professionals the proper training they needed to address the problem of rising pollution levels. “They said they would construct 10 smog towers, but they never did. The healthcare personnel is not trained to combat this pollution problem,” the union minister added.

Minister Lekhi further noted that the AAP government’s “red light on, gaadi off” initiative is unlikely to have any impact on the city’s pollution levels. “We attempted to find out through an RTI whether the “red light on, gaadi off” campaign is indeed helpful or not. We learned that it has no bearing,” she said.
