Delhi govt to bear CBSE examination fees of govt school students

New Delhi: Delhi government has announced that it will pay the CBSE board examination fee for all the students studying in the government schools.

The announcement came after the Central Board of Secondary Education Board increased the examination fee for the class 10 and 12 board examination students.

Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia also tweeted confirming the same and directed the government schools not to collect board exam fees from the students. He shared the picture of the circular as well.

 

 

In the circular issued by the Delhi Directorate of Education (DDE), all the government schools of the city have been asked not to collect any examination fee from the class 10 and 12 students. It stated that the CBSE has increased the examination fee for the class 10 and 12 board examination for 2020.

Further, it directed the heads of the government schools, government-aided schools and Patrachar Vidyalayas to not collect the examination fee from class 10 and 12 students until further notice.

However it said that the process of making the list of students for the examination must continue.

 

The Central Board of Secondary Education had increased the examination fee for the general category students from Rs 750 to Rs. 1500 while the examination fee for SC/ST students has been increased from Rs. 350 to Rs. 1200. The board however restored the fees to SC/ST students of Delhi government schools after the government agreed to pay the balance amount.
