NEW DELHI, June 26—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Shri Arvinder Singh, MLA has written a letter to Lt Governor Dr Najeeb Jung to ensure proper power and water supply and total cleanliness in the Muslim-dominated during the holy Ramzan fast, starting on June 29.

 

In his letter to the Lt. Governor, Shri Arvinder Singh has noted that peple were fed up with the power and water crises in Delhi, and the power and water situation in the Muslim-dominated areas was very bad. He said the power companies were deliberately imposing power cuts, and there was also no arrangement for drinking water tankers in the unauthorized colonies, dominated by Muslims. Due to the inefficiency and carelessness of the Delhi Jal Board, people were not getting tanker facility for drinking water, and as a result, people were being forced to drink unfit water.

 

DPCC chief spokesperson Shri Mukesh Sharma said in a statement that the Pradesh Congress has expressed its concern to the Lt. Governor in a telephonic talk with him. He said the sanitation conditions in the Muslim-dominated areas in all the three MCDs were very bad. In the letter to Lt.  Governor Dr Najeeb Jung, he has been requested to ensure proper cleanliness in the Muslim-dominated areas during the Ramzan month, starting on June 29, and also direct the Delhi Jal Board to make special arrangements for driking water tankers in the Muslim-dominated areas.

 

The Pradesh Congress has also expressed it concern that though the holi Ramzan Month was about to begin, power cuts were being imposed unabated for hours together in Delhi. The letter has sought that the Raj Niwas should ensure that 24-hour power supply is provided to the Muslim-dominated areas during the Ramzan month. The letter has also requested the LG to setup a control room during the  Ramzan fast where people could lodge their complaints on power and water shortages.
