Delhi temperature drops to 22 degrees, IMD predicts rain and thunderstorm

New Delhi, 25th May 2023: Authorities at the Indian Meteorological Department confirmed that the national capital’s minimum temperature was 22.6 degrees Celsius on Thursday, four degrees below the season’s normal, with showers and thunderstorms forecast later in the day, according to weather officials.

The India Meteorological Department predicts primarily cloudy sky with light to moderate rain and thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds (30-40 kmph) in most regions in the afternoon or evening.

According to the National Disaster Management Authority, “thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty wind (speed 35-45 kmph) is very likely to occur in most places over Central Delhi, East Delhi, New Delhi, North Delhi, North East Delhi, North West Delhi, South Delhi, South West Delhi, and West Delhi in the next 24 hours.”

The highest temperature is expected to be approximately 35 degrees.
