Delhi Tempo driver assault: Arvind Kejriwal demands Amit Shah to take strict action against police personnel

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on the incident where an auto-driver was allegedly thrashed by policemen in Mukherjee Nagar area yesterday said that,It’s an unfortunate incident. We condemn the incident. I appeal to the LG &Home Minister to take strict action against the accused police officers.



Taking to Twitter, Kejriwal demanded strict action against those guilty. “Delhi Police brutality in Mukherjee Nagar is highly condemnable and unjustified. I demand an impartial probe into the whole incident & strict action against the guilty. Protectors of citizens can’t be allowed to turn into uncontrolled violent mobsters,” Kejriwal tweeted.

Three policemen have been suspended for “unprofessional conduct” after a clash with a tempo driver, who chased their colleagues with a sword after his vehicle collided with a police van in northwest Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar, a senior officer of the Delhi Police said on Monday.

The police have registered cross cases in connection with the incident, he added.
