TN- Can you please tell us about your biggest achievements so far?
AS- As far as biggest achievement is concerned while in Govt of India I have done a lot for the handicraft export, in the Ministry of Textile I was a Executive Director I have opened lot of franchise shops across the globe, in the textile industry where the company I joined, were of only five crore turn over and when I left the company it was around fifteen thousand crores, so it was the biggest work I have done for handloom export. New natural fibres have been added to the company and now company is doing very well. The company was subsidiary of the Ministry of Textile. As far as the professional achievement is concerned I am very satisfied with the work which I have done and there was a cluster where poor people who were not the getting the adequate money for their work. I also saw that their product directly sold not through the middle man, so they got the maximum of their dues, that was very satisfying for me, because if you break the middle man change in any system it’s a great achievement, especially in the country like India where lot of middle man and bribe, it was very satisfying.
TN- what is the biggest challenges you faced in achieving these achievements?
AS- Lot of challenges to break the bureaucratic chain, to pursue seniors, to take orders from the ministry. To start something new was challenge as government of india at that time was not thinking new so we manufactured at the government level. They were having bad precedent in the manufacturing and general perception was also that government should not do business, but I wanted to break that and government must do business, if it can establish certain benchmark. So I started factories in Chennai and Noida, both factories are doing very well and lot of people are doing jobs and they were able to elevate the quality of life.
TN – what’s your success mantra?
AS- Be sincere and honest try to help as much as you can. Life victory doesn’t go to stronger or weaker man but sooner or later the man who wins is the man who thinks he can, if you have determination you can do anything.
TN- who are your icons or role model in your life?
AS- I always dedicate my success to my teacher, who taught me that whatever you do, do it with full devotion, commitment and passion. Never think that you want to be a big person in terms of money and economic achievements. Always try to be big person with your character, moral, behavior with humility. I believe humility is my biggest assets and virtuous path is my ultimate aim.
TN – which books have influenced your thoughts?
AS – Many books have influenced but especially Dr. Radhakrishnan and Gita has given me lot of thoughts, I have read it five to seven times and every time I read It find something new. Many philosophies of Dr. bhagwandas, so I have read all those books and got inspiration from them.
TN- What kind of films your are interested In and your favorate actor?
AS- All types of films I see, great fond of movies, whenever I get time I go to movies. In actors I like Anitabh Bachchan most. But movie black and paa was is very close to my heart.
TN – which kind of music or art you love?
As- In art I love only handicraft, hand woven things and hand painting, that was the passion that derived me to the ministry of textile and in music I like ghazals.
TN- What is your comment of Prime Minister’s Modi performance so far?
AS- He is great and we are fortunate that such a hardworking and honest Prime Minister and its matter or proud.
