DGI students can now access American Technology in Civil Engineering

American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) initiated the establishment of Student Chapter at Dronacharya Group of Institutions (DGI), Greater Noida on 27th April 2017.

Speaking on the occasion of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Students Chapter at DGI, Greater Noida the Chief-Guest Mr. Gursharan Jit Singh Rosha, President, ASCE, North Region said that American Society of Civil Engineers is committed to protect the public health, safety, and welfare and to contribute in the Nation building through its work in the field of Civil Engineering. He further stated that   keeping social welfare in mind, the society strives to share knowledge, experience, and best practices through conferences, workshops, peer-reviewed journals, books, seminars, webinars, etc.

Addressing the students, the Guest-of Honour Shri  R. P. Saxena said that this society is well-known for developing infrastructural and environmental stewardship and it is a nice platform for lifelong learning in  a diversified filed of Civil Engineering.

Welcoming the Chief-Guest and other dignitaries Prof. D. V. Bhise, HOD (CE Department),DGI Greater Noida  stated that such societies are relevant for the students as it helps them in  acquiring knowledge related to Architectural Engineering, Construction, Geothermal Engineering, Structural Engineering, Surveying etc. His welcome address was followed by a presentation delivered by Prof. T.P.N.Singh, Advisor (R&D), DGI, Greater Noida. Prof Singh presented a glimpse of achievements of Dronacharyans in the fields of Research & Publication, Project Fabrication and other related areas.

Sharing the brief about the event Ms. Deepti Singh, Assistant Professor (CE Department), DGI, Greater Noida said that ASCE is a global society which brings together volunteers and institutes from around the world to advance the technical and professional expertise in a number of fields like Aerospace, Climate Change Codes and Standards, Energy, Pipelines, Wind Engineering, Geomatics etc.

The inaugural ceremony ended with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Gyanendra Kumar, Assistant Professor (CE Department), DGI, Greater Noida.
