Noida, (23 June 2025): Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida campus is hosting the 99th Annual General Body Meeting and National Conference of Vice Chancellors under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), on 23–24 June 2025. The theme of this year’s conference is “Envisioning Future Higher Education: The Pivotal Role of India.”
Delivering the welcome address at the inaugural ceremony, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor of Amity University Noida, said: “Today we gather for the 99th time, carrying forward a legacy built by visionaries like Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, and Dr. Zakir Husain. Our education system is not just of the present — it’s rooted in the ancient traditions of the Gurukul, built on the sacred teacher-disciple bond. India is evolving from the wisdom of Nalanda, Takshila and Vikramshila to a future powered by AI and virtual innovation.”
She emphasized the need to align higher education with the diverse aspirations of students, while preserving India’s rich intellectual heritage. She called for an educational framework that blends ancient wisdom with cutting-edge technology to shape global futures.
The Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankar, inaugurated the prestigious event, while the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel, will preside over the valedictory session.
Over 220 Vice Chancellors and Directors from Indian and foreign member universities are participating, along with senior officials from key ministries, apex educational bodies, and global academic institutions.
