Diversion of traffic on Ring Road between South Extn. I & II

On the intervening night of 7th and 8th June, 2014 between 11 pm to 6 am, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will install a pre-fabricated FOB connecting markets of South Extension – Part I & II, across Ring Road. To facilitate the installation of FOB, following traffic diversions will be enforced:

 

a)    From 0000 to 0500 hours, the carriageway of Ring Road between South Extn. Markets – Part I & II will remain closed for all traffic towards Dhaula Kuan. Heavy commercial goods vehicles will be diverted from Moolchand crossing towards Outer Ring Road to reach their destination. The light motor vehicles from Lajpat Nagar to AIIMS would be plied in modified one-lane of northern carriageway.

 

b)    The general traffic from AIIMS to Lajpat Nagar between South Extn.- Part I & II will be plied on modified two-lane northern carriageway. Heavy commercial goods vehicle from AIIMS loop will be diverted on Aurobindo Marg towards IIT – Outer Ring Road for further journey.

Traffic policemen and marshalls from DMRC will be deployed to guide the motorists. Adequate sign boards have also been installed for the information of road users. Motorists are requested to follow the directions of traffic policemen on duty to avoid inconvenience and in the interest of smooth and safe movement of traffic.
