Doctorate Achievement: Jyoti Singh Honoured with PhD at Galgotias University Convocation

Greater Noida News (29 March 2026): Galgotias University hosted its grand Convocation Ceremony 2026, marking a proud and memorable milestone for graduating students. The ceremony celebrated academic excellence and the achievements of scholars across various disciplines. The event was graced by A. S. Kiran Kumar, former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation, who attended as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished dignitaries present on the occasion included Uma Shankar Pandey, noted social activist and water conservationist; Ram Gopal Agarwal; and Vinit Goenka.

The ceremony was conducted in the esteemed presence of the university leadership, including Dhruv Galgotia, CEO, Chancellor and Founder; founders Sunil Galgotia and Padmini Galgotia; Vice Chancellor K. Mallikarjuna Babu; Advisor to the Chancellor Prabhat Kumar; Pro Vice Chancellor Avdhesh Kumar; and Registrar Nitin Kumar Gaur.

During the convocation ceremony, Jyoti Singh was honoured with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sociology, marking a significant academic accomplishment. Her research was titled “Impact of Democratization on Family and Marriage: A Sociological Study in Agra District, Uttar Pradesh.” The study explored how democratic values and social transformations influence family structures and marital relationships in the region.

Speaking to Ten News Network, Jyoti Singh described the moment as deeply fulfilling and expressed gratitude for the support she received throughout her academic journey. Receiving a doctoral degree is a wonderful feeling and a proud milestone in my life. This achievement would not have been possible without the constant encouragement of my parents, family members, my husband, and my daughter Khushi, she said.

She dedicated her doctorate to her parents and family, acknowledging their unwavering support and motivation. Sharing a message for aspiring students, Jyoti Singh encouraged them to remain focused and determined in their pursuits.
One should work with full dedication, enthusiasm, and perseverance to achieve their goals, she advised.

Jyoti Singh completed her doctoral research under the guidance of Ambika Prasad Pandey, Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology at Galgotias University. She acknowledged his continuous guidance and mentorship during her PhD journey, noting that his support was instrumental in shaping her research work.

Dr. Ambika Prasad Pandey also praised his scholar, highlighting her dedication and discipline. He said that, Jyoti Singh has been extremely punctual, sincere, and committed to her work. She successfully completed her PhD in three and a half years, which is a remarkable achievement. I am proud to have such a dedicated scholar.

The convocation ceremony highlighted the university’s continued commitment to academic excellence, research, and innovation.
