Dr. Abdul Kalam Inter-Technical University Sports Fest 2024-25 Commences with Enthusiasm at Galgotias University
The Dr. Abdul Kalam Inter-Technical University Sports Fest 2024-25 (AKTU Zonal Fest) commenced on the 23rd of October 2024 at Galgotias College of Engineering & Technology, Greater Noida. This prestigious event is organized under the aegis of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, with Galgotias College hosting the sports fest for the Gautam Buddha Nagar Zone.
Sanjeeva Singh, an Olympian, Arjun Awardee and Dronacharya Awardee, serves as the Chief Guest for the event. During his address, he emphasized the importance of perseverance and dedication in sports, inspiring all participants to push their limits and strive for excellence. Nirbhaya Singh, the esteemed Guest of Honor, also addressed the gathering, sharing his insights on the significance of discipline and hard work in achieving success in athletics.
The sports fest features a variety of competitions, including Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Table Tennis and Volleyball, with participation from approximately 1,547 players from 22 colleges of Gautam Buddha Nagar zone. Shri Suneel Galgotia, Chairman- GEI, Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO-GEI and Dr. Avadhesh Kumar, Pro-VC of Galgotias University, expressed their pride in hosting this prestigious event. Dr. Vikram Bali, Director GCET, praised the hard work and dedication of all involved in organizing the fest, emphasizing that it promises to be a memorable and successful celebration of sportsmanship and talent.
Prashant Bhardwaj, Sports Officer, and Dr. Akash Malik, Professor In-Charge Sports, were also present, along with all HoDs and participants, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.
