Greater Noida News (06 June 2026): The sixth death anniversary of the late Dr. Pritam Singh, one of India’s most distinguished management educators, visionary thinkers, and academic administrators, was commemorated with deep respect and admiration at the auditorium of IILM University, Greater Noida. The event brought together eminent academicians, HR professionals, social workers, students, and representatives from various voluntary organizations to pay tribute to the extraordinary contributions of the legendary management guru.
Speaking to Ten News Network on the occasion, Dr. H. Chaturvedi, Pro-Chancellor of IILM University, Greater Noida, and Director General of IILM, Lodhi Road, reflected on the remarkable life and enduring legacy of Dr. Pritam Singh.
Architect of Modern Management Education in India
Dr. Chaturvedi described Dr. Pritam Singh as one of the principal architects of modern management education in India. He highlighted that Dr. Singh served as Director of three of the country’s most prestigious management institutions—Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurugram, and International Management Institute (IMI) New Delhi.
According to Dr. Chaturvedi, these institutions are today recognized among India’s leading management schools, and Dr. Singh played a transformative role in shaping their growth, reputation, and academic excellence.
Dr. Pritam Singh not only built institutions but also built generations of leaders, said Dr. Chaturvedi. His influence extended far beyond campuses as he mentored numerous CEOs, CXOs, and senior executives across both the public and private sectors.
National Recognition and Policy Contributions
Highlighting Dr. Singh’s contributions at the national level, Dr. Chaturvedi noted that he was frequently entrusted with the selection of top leadership positions in public sector enterprises through organizations such as SCOPE and various recruitment boards. His expertise and credibility made him one of the most respected figures in leadership assessment and talent development.
In recognition of his invaluable contributions to education and management, Dr. Pritam Singh was honored with the prestigious Padma Shri by the Government of India. He also served on a distinguished four-member committee tasked with identifying and recommending twenty Institutions of Excellence in the country, further demonstrating the trust placed in his vision and judgment.
Carrying Forward a Mission of Social Responsibility
A unique feature of this year’s remembrance ceremony was its focus on social inclusion and community engagement—values that Dr. Singh passionately advocated throughout his life.
As part of the program, around 50 children associated with the Delhi-based NGO “Ek Chhoti Si Khushi” participated in various recreational and educational activities. The children enjoyed games and interactive sessions and were presented with gifts, including piggy banks and other useful items.
Dr. Chaturvedi emphasized that one of Dr. Pritam Singh’s greatest teachings was the importance of supporting underprivileged children and ensuring access to quality education for all.
His message was simple yet powerful—we should strive to be givers rather than takers, Dr. Chaturvedi remarked. We must extend support to poor and marginalized communities, especially children and women, and work collectively to create opportunities for those who are deprived of quality education.
A Legacy That Continues to Inspire
The memorial event also highlighted the continuing efforts of the Dr. Pritam Singh Foundation to preserve and promote his vision. Dr. Chaturvedi informed that annual conferences and commemorative programs have become a tradition over the past six years, bringing together thought leaders, educators, and professionals to discuss issues related to education, leadership, and social development.
He announced that the upcoming annual conference associated with Dr. Pritam Singh’s birth anniversary on November 19 will be organized in collaboration with Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, while a one-day inaugural conference will be held in New Delhi.
As participants gathered to remember the life and achievements of Dr. Pritam Singh, the event served as a powerful reminder of his enduring impact on management education, institutional leadership, and social responsibility. Through his pioneering contributions, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to nation-building, Dr. Pritam Singh continues to inspire educators, students, and leaders across India.
Six years after his passing, his ideals remain alive in the institutions he helped shape, the leaders he mentored, and the countless lives he touched. The commemorative gathering at IILM University reaffirmed that Dr. Pritam Singh’s legacy will continue to guide future generations in the pursuit of excellence, compassion, and meaningful societal change.
The memorial gathering was organized under the aegis of the Dr. Pritam Singh Foundation, with IILM University serving as the host institution. The program was coordinated by Dr. Pallavi Negi and witnessed enthusiastic participation from education leaders and members of civil society from Delhi-NCR.
