Encroachments near Vaishali Metro razed

he Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) demolished illegal structures erected on the green belt near Vaishali Metro station on Wednesday following the lapse of May 20 deadline given to the encroachers.

In the first phase of the demolition drive undertaken on Tuesday, GDA officials razed portions of petty commercial establishments that had encroached upon the green belt. A vehicle showroom and a few marble cutting, polishing and selling units were also demolished. “Only portions of structures that encroached the green belt were pulled down,” said P K Sharma, GDA enforcement officer.
