EPCH donates 1,000 medical kits to Moradabad District Administration to aid its fight against Covid

Moradabad – 13th May’2021 – The whole country is in the grip of 2nd wave of coronavirus which is impacting the economy, as very limited economic activities are being undertaken in different parts of the country right now.  The medical care system has been stretched to the very limit and the Government along with other agencies are trying their best to provide relief to the individuals.

Keeping in line with EPCH’s resolve to provide help, Kamal Soni, Vice-Chairman – EPCH has donated 1,000 medical kits to Rakesh Kumar Singh, District Magistrate-Moradabad for the treatment of poor people on behalf of the Exports Promotion Council of Handicrafts.  On the occasion, Mr. Nabil Ahmed, Member COA-EPCH, Mr. Avadesh Agrawal, Regional Coordinator-EPCH and Mr. Najmul Islam, Senior Exporter were also present, informed Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General-EPCH.

Adding further, he said that it was highly desired in these difficult times, and urged exporters to come forward and donate generously to help the needy. He further said that EPCH is committed towards offering help to the workers and artisans spread across various craft clusters and pledged that many more such initiatives will be undertaken in coordination with local associations in other craft clusters in future as well.

The estimated figures for exports of handicrafts for the period April-March of the financial year 2020-21 stands at Rs. 25558.94 crores (USD 3443.45 million) registering a growth of 1.14 % (Rupee terms) and decline (-)3.39 % (dollar terms) over the same period in 19-20.
