EPCH member exporters display exquisite Home textiles & furnishing at Heimtextil 2022 in Germany
NEW DELHI – 21st June’2022 – The Heimtextil, 2022 got underway at Frankfurt in the august presence of U.P. Singh, IAS, Secretary Textiles, Govt. of India, along with Smt Shubhra, Trade Advisor Ministry of Textiles Govt. of India, Ram Kumar, Consul, CGI Frankfurt, Raj Kumar Malhotra, Chairman EPCH, Rajesh Kumar Jain, Member COA EPCH, Arshad Mir, Member COA EPCH and other member exporters. The fair will be held from 21-24 June, 2022. It is a great opportunity for India to showcase its incomparable diversity, rich culture, tradition of arts and crafts at such a big platform like Heimtextil.
Heimtextil Fair held at Frankfurt every year in the month of January, is one of the well-known fair for home and textiles sourcing with the collection of interior textiles, interior design and interior trends. Germany is the gateway of the European Union (EU) and is economically the strongest country in the EU and the third largest trading nation in the world. For the first and only time this June, the Heimtextil Summer Special is being held concurrently with the Techtextil and Texprocess trade fairs. After a two-year, pandemic-related pause, this trio of events offer an important and highly efficient overview of global trends, products and innovations.
It is one of the well-established and known fair for presentation of new products, new trends and new innovations in Home textiles and madeups. More than 1000 companies from 49 countries are participating in this fair. This year, more than 225+ Indian companies are participating in Summer edition of Heimtextil, 2022. Looking at the demand of Indian Handicrafts in Germany specially the textiles and home furnishing products, EPCH organized members’ participation in Heimtextil and set-up an exclusive pavilion displaying exquisite Home textiles & furnishing.

Verma, Executive Director -EPCH India’s participation will add to the vibrancy and diversity of the fair and familiarize global manufacturers, retailers and brands with the robust entrepreneurship in Indian textiles and home furnishing & consumer products industry and will open up opportunities for sourcing from India.
He further elaborated that Germany is major market for Indian products and hence Heimtextil is an important marketing medium for Indian companies world over.
EPCH is a nodal agency for promoting exports of handicrafts from the Country to various destinations of the world and projecting India’s image abroad as a reliable supplier of high quality handicrafts goods & services. The Handicrafts exports during the year 2021-22 was Rs. 33253.00 Crores (US $ 4459.76 Million) registering a growth of 29.49% in rupee term & 28.90% in dollar terms over previous year. However exports of handicrafts during 1st two months of current financial year i.e. April-May’2022-23 is Rs. 4712.55 Crores and USD 620.92 Million registering a growth of 3.12% in rupee term & 0.41% in dollar term over the same period of previous year. The exports of handicrafts items to Germany during the year 2021-22 is Rs. 1816.70 Crores (US $ 243.65 Million) registering a growth of 19.36% in rupee term and 18.82% in dollar term over previous year informed by Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General – EPCH.
