Q 1.  Education sector is undergoing a lot of changes and new avenues are opening up for children. What do you feel about it?
Ans.  Education in India is rapidly evolving. Though the structure remains the same, more emphasis is now being laid on experiential learning. With much more exposure, global trends are fast being accepted. CBSE has taken a giant leap forward in introducing innovative subjects like Heritage Crafts, Garment Construction, Bakery, Web Application, Multimedia, Fashion Studies, Theatre Studies, and Food Production which are sure to attract students who have an aptitude for taking it up as a Career.
I feel this is a step in the right direction and will raise the literacy quotient in our country.

Q 2. With growing competition, children today are much stressed. How do you tackle it amongst your students?

Ans. Today’s students are indeed quite stressed. High stress levels are caused due to academic pressure, heavy workloads, busy schedules, tests & exams, peer pressure, sleep deprivation, high expectation of parents, performance expectation from teachers and desire to be popular.
For the above problems, children should first of all have a positive attitude and have faith in themselves. This will raise their self-esteem and help them to believe that they are capable of overcoming all hurdles. A few pointers that can help students overcome stress are:
Don’t procrastinate – Putting off work schedule will only add to the work scheduled for the next day.
Attempt first things first.
Avoid use of mobiles, laptops as chatting and unnecessary diversions can put you off the track.
Positive support system : Parents have to ensure a congenial learning environment, regulated timings for TV viewing  & outings; meal times and sleep hours must be scheduled for the students. Parents must monitor the child’s whereabouts if he is doing group tuitions; and of course self-study is very necessary.
Children must have some time for some activity which they enjoy like playing any sport or listening to music.

Above all if our children remain focused and work hard consistently throughout the year, there will be no stress.

Q 3. What steps are being taken by your organization to ensure multilateral development in children?

Ans. DPS Indirapuram is often known as a happening school. Our year’s schedule is planned with a perfect balance of academic rigour and co-curricular activities. We try to ensure that every child of our school gets a chance to show case his talent & potential in every sphere, whether it is Cultural events in school, Assemblies, Festivals, Competitions & Inter-DPS events. I am very proud to say that our children excel in every arena of co-curricular activities and bring laurels to the school. Infact we lay special emphasis on the harmonious development of the personality, instill self-confidence and prepare them to face the challenges of a competitive environment.

Q4. Do you feel we need to have more schools like DPS in and around Delhi?

Ans. DPS is a well-known and trusted brand which caters to a cross -section of society. Since DPS ensures quality education with emphasis on holistic education and personality building, it is popular and parents are keen that their wards should get an opportunity to study in schools which will not only give their child a sound base but prepare them for life.
