FACULTY WORKSHOP ITS ENGINEERING COLLEGE GREATER NOIDA

Faculty,  I.T.S. Engineering College, one of the Premier  Institutions in the  field of

Engineering and Management Education organized the Guest lecture by Prof.(Dr.) R.A. Yadav,

Former Vice Chairman –AICTE

The  program  initiated  with  the  Welcome  address  by  Prof.Ms.  Anuja  Shukla  and  bouquet

presentation to our honorable guest Prof.(Dr.) R.A. Yadav’s by Mr.B.K.Arora, Secretary-  I.T.S

Engineering  College,  Greater  Noida.  A  brief  on  Prof.(Dr.)  R.A.  Yadav’s  career  graph  was

presented.

Prof. Yadav has been working as Vice Chairman AICTE.  Prior to Joining AICTE

Dr.  Yadav  has  been  Professor  of  Finance  and  Strategic  Management  at  FMS,  University  of

Delhi. He has been the Founder Director at Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi.

He holds a Master Degree specializing in Finance and Control with  first class,  first  rank  (Gold

Medalist)  from the  University  of Business  School,  Punjab  University, Chandigarh.  He  did  his

Ph.D  in Finance and control from Delhi School of Economics.

He  has  been  actively  involved  in  management  education,  training,  research  and  consultancy

for the last 32 years. Dr Yadav has eight honors and awards to his credit. He is the recipient of

European commission  fellowship  during  1993-94. He is the Founder member and Secretary  of

Indian Financial Management Association. He is editor in chief of Indian Journal of Finance and

Research which is one of the leading journals in India and abroad. He has been member of the

Board of many organizations and various committees, both government and corporate. He is on

the Board of Governors of various  IIMs and  Indian  Institute of Maritime Studies, Mumbai and

National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai. He has been again nominated as Director

UCO  Bank  from  November  2004.   He  is  also  member  of  AIMA  –CMS  Advisory  Board.  His

book “DMA-Escorts” was awarded” Best Book Award in 1987.

Prof.(Dr.) R.A. Yadav,  very  humble  and  down to  earth  person,  commenced the lecture  on the

present  scenario  of technical  education  and  enlightened  on the  education in  India  and  abroad.

He  emphasized  on  the  today’s  education  in  21st

role,  wherein  the  supply  exceeds  the  demand  for  human  resource,  a  very  stiff  competition  is

being  faced.  He  explained  that  any  organization  passes  through  4  stages  –  conceptualization,

expansion/growth, competition and maturity, decline. Through new curriculum, pedagogy, new

researches  any  institute  maintains  its  survival  for  a  long  period  unlike  earlier  times  wherein

demand  exceeded  the  supply  and  quality  was  ignored.  Without  quality  education  today,  the

survival  is  at  stake.    The  admissions  to  the  professional  programs    has  reduced  drastically

in  last  two  years.  IT  Technology  has  revolutionized  and  to  survive  one  must  synergize  with

the  speed  to  change,  to  comply  to  the  expectation  of  the  society.  People  prefer  IITs,  IIMs,

Delhi  University,  need  to  reflect  on  the  same.  People  prefer  value  addition  programmes  than

conventional  knowledge  only.  Institutes  have  to  concentrate  on  3  dimensions  viz.  Intelligent

capital  (knowledge,  skills),  Social Capital  (Attitude,  communication  etc)  and  Adaptability that

makes  the  Human  Capital.  Students  are  to  be  given  practical  training  along  with  the  classes,

more of doing then listening where one listens, one understands , retain half and forget half. Only

doing  and learning will  help the  student to increase the  chances  of  employment. The  faculties

should imbibe the Team effort spirit, collectiveness so that the same could be transferred to the

students. The soft skills are majorly looked upon by the  recruiters along with the main domain

skills of the students. His message to all the faculty is “Working together is Success, Learn to

Learn continuously!”

Dr Yadav has already changed the lives of millions of young students of the present and future,

for a future that they could have only dreamt of earlier. Through him the standards of education

are rising in India to be at par with the countries abroad.

It is very prestigious for ITS Engineering College Participants to have such a Dignified and very

Humble , Unassuming  Knowledgeable Gentleman and to grasp his views and visions.

The Director Dr. Vineet Kansal extended  his  gratitude and invited  Prof.(Dr.) R.A. Yadav and

Secretary,  ITS  Mr.  B.K.  Arora  to    felicitate  the  faculties  doing  commendable  contribution  to

engineering  and  management  education  in  ITS  Engg.  College.  Faculties  felicitated  were  (Air
