Faridabad Journalists lodge protest against attack on Journalist in Panipat

In order to protest against the attack on Journalists in Panipat two days back, a meeting of members of India Media Centre (IMC) Faridabad chapter. The attack on journalists in Panipat was condemned by the members. The meeting was presided over by Bijender Bansal, coordinator Gurgaon Zone. Bansal said that two days back some drunken men attacked the cops of traffic police in Panipat. The journalists and photojournalists covering the incident were also attacked by these men and the camera was also broken by these drunken men. He said that the police reported on the site after 45 minutes of the incident. Bansal said that this meeting of IMC has been called to lodge their protest on the incident.  District President IMC, Deepak Gautam said that the men who dared to attack the cops and made them run from the site must be having some criminal record because a common man cannot dare to make the cops run and attack them. Gautam said that we, the members of IMC, demand an immediate action by the administration and police in this matter. He said that all the accused must be booked under stringent sections to make this case a deterrent for any repeat of such incident in future. IMC has raised a call for the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to constitute a committee making stringent rules for protection of Journalists in the state.

The meeting was held in the matter of attack on traffic police on Thursday when a traffic ASI was beaten by some men. His uniform was also torn by these culprits.  In the case Rajesh, a journalist, who has gone to cover the incident, was also attacked by the men and his camera was also broken. A case was registered against three accused and also unnamed 15 men in the case. All the three accused were arrested by the police and produced in the court on Saturday.

Member of IMC who attended the meeting included Mukesh Sharma General Secretary IMC, Rakesh Chaurasia, Navin Dhamija, Uttamraj, Preetpal Mata, Sanjay Kapoor, Sanjay Chaturvedi, Sachin Gaur, Vinod Mittal, Narendra Sharma, Manoj Bharti, Rahul Shyam, Pankaj Mishra, Dushyant Tyagi, Naresh Narula and many other journalists from Faridabad.
