Farmers protest unfair land laws

Farmers from over 35 villages held a protest in front of the Greater Noida Authority office on Monday, reiterating their long-pending demands, including regularization of abadi land and allotment of 10% developed plots in lieu of their acquired land.

Threatening to intensify their stir, the protesters said that their demands have been pending for a long time and if they were not addressed, then they would soon take to the streets. “The indifferent attitude of the state government and officials towards our genuine demands will not be tolerated,” said Rupesh Verma, a farmer leader.
