FIR against Akhilesh Yadav for assault on journalists in Muradabad

A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against former CM Akhilesh Yadav after a complaint was filed over an incident wherein journalists were allegedly assaulted on March 11.

The FIR has been registered under stringent sections such as 147 (rioting), 342 (wrongful confinement), & 323 (causing hurt) of IPC.

Yadav was in Muradabad earlier this week when a commotion broke out during a press conference.

In a video of the incident that later went viral, Akhilesh was also seen encouraging his supporters while journalists are being heckled in the room. A smiling picture of Yadav while his security personnel are chasing and pushing back journalists drew much criticism on the social media.
