Former Principal Secretary to Kerala CM’s Office Arrested in LIFE Mission Scam Case

Delhi (India), February 15, 2023: According to sources, the former principal secretary to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Office, M Sivasankar, has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the LIFE Mission Scam Case. This is the first arrest made in the case.

The LIFE Mission project, initiated by the state government, aimed to construct houses for 140 families in Wadakkanchery in Thrissur district using 14.50 crore out of 18.50 crore granted by the Red Crescent via the UAE consulate. The contract also included the construction of a healthcare center using the remaining amount.

The managing director of UNITAC, Santhosh Eapan, alleged that the accused, including Swapna Suresh, had received a bribe worth 4.48 crore for the project. Swapna Suresh and Sarith PS have accused Sivasankar of being involved in the scandal.
