Four Arrested for Allegedly Killing Teen Over Financial Dispute in Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy

New Delhi (India), 27th Jan 2023: Four youths have been arrested for the murder of a 14-year-old boy in northwest Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area. The police stated that the accused killed the boy over a financial dispute, claiming that he had borrowed 18,000 from them and was refusing to return the money.

On Sunday, the police received two calls about a body found in a drain at Shahbad Dairy. The victim, who had an injury on his head, was identified as Manjeet, a 14-year-old boy who had been reported missing on January 19.

His parents had filed a missing person’s complaint at Shahbad Dairy police station, and an FIR was registered under Section 363 (punishment for kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code.

Following an investigation, the police arrested four suspects: Harshit (21), Vikram (19), Vipin (20), and Pankaj (19), all residents of Shahbad Dairy.

The accused revealed that brothers Harshit and Vikram ran a cloth shop at D-Block of Shahbad Dairy. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Devesh Kumar Mahla said that the police are continuing to investigate the case.
