Free Immunization for Measles-Rubella begins in Noida, 6 lakh children to be vaccinated

Central government’s free immunization program for Measles-Rubella has been kicked off on Monday in NOIDA by the health department
It will cover over six lakh children in the district.
Children between nine months to fifteen years of age will be the target of program to provide them with free vaccines.
184 teams have been formed to administer the program in the district.
Schools, community health centres, primary health centres, and anganwadi centres are the locations at which the camps have been put up across the district.
It is a nationwide program which will cover 41 crore children across the nation.
India along with ten WHO member countries of South-East Asia region, plans to eliminate Measles and control Rubella/Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS) by 2020 through the program.
