Galgotias University organizes “Anhad : An International Film Festival 2.0”

Greater Noida (13/04/2023): Department of Mass Communication, Galgotias University organized a two-day International film festival ANHAD 2.0 on the 10th and 11th of April, 2023 in collaboration with NSS.

More than eighty films were screened in the Anhad, which includes films from France and Bhutan. On this occasion, My name is Vicky (Srinivas University, Mangalore), Story of a labour (Gulshan Kumar Films and Television Institute of India, Noida), and Praytna (Galgotias University, Greater Noida) got 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes respectively. With this, movies such as Choice (Apeejey Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi), Finding Myself (Royal Thimphu College, Bhutan), The Poor Edison (Kristu Jayanti Autonomous College, Bangalore) were awarded for Best Editing, Best Story, and Best Cinematography respectively.

The event was inaugurated by renowned film maker Kamlesh Mishra and Durgesh Pathak. Both the distinguished guests shared their experience of film making and talked about the changing world of cinema.

Dr. K Mallikarjuna Babu vice chancellor delivered the presidential address and encouraged the students to stretch their imagination and be creative.

Dr Renu Luthra emphasised that movie maker should be conscious of the fact that they influence Socity and thinking and hence should be responsible.

Dr. Avdhesh kumar Pro Vice Chancellors highlighted the importance of soft skills in the journalism profession.

Vinky Sharma as an independent film maker and critic delivered the valedictory address. She congratulated the school of media and mass communication on their initiatives. She encouraged the students to experiment with various genres of films and take every opportunity to showcase their work.
