Greater Noida (19 April 2025): The 59th edition of the IHGF Delhi Fair, one of the world’s largest fairs for home, lifestyle, fashion, furniture, and textiles, organized by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), commenced at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. The fair was officially inaugurated by Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of Textiles, Government of India, who also toured the exhibition halls and interacted with various participants, showcasing India’s rich handicraft heritage.
In an exclusive interview with Ten News Network, Guneet Kakar, from Geetanjali International, shared her insights on the brand’s journey, product uniqueness, and global presence during their participation in the EPCH’s Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Fair (IHGF).
Craftsmanship and Innovation at the Core
Geetanjali International, a prominent name in the fashion accessories and garments sector, has been at the forefront of promoting Indian handicrafts globally. At the fair, the company showcased its signature products — scarves and stoles — which are renowned for their intricate handcrafting and innovative designs.
We are into fashion accessories and garments, and the products displayed here include scarves and stoles, said Guneet Kakar. These are exported worldwide, with major markets in Japan, Germany, and the USA.
What sets Geetanjali International apart is its strong focus on craftsmanship and originality. The handcrafted elements and unique designs by our in-house designers give our products a distinctive identity in the global market, she added.
Geetanjali International has been a long-standing participant in trade fairs organized by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH). Reflecting on their journey, Guneet Kakar expressed gratitude for the platform provided by EPCH.
EPCH has been a great support both in India and globally. We have been associated with them for over 30 years and have been participating in these fairs since the inception of the Handicrafts and Gifts Fair, she said. These exhibitions offer excellent opportunities to connect with buyers, generate inquiries, and showcase our innovations to a wider audience.
Guneet also shared a message for aspiring artisans and entrepreneurs entering the handicrafts industry. Innovation is the key to entering new markets. With innovation comes new designs, new colors, and a better understanding of customer needs. Immersing yourself in what the customer wants is essential for success.
Established in 1982, Geetanjali International has grown into a trusted name in the field of handcrafted fashion accessories. Known for their blend of traditional artistry and contemporary design, the brand continues to uphold India’s rich heritage while meeting the demands of modern global consumers. Their strong export footprint in markets like Japan, Germany, and the United States underscores their global appeal and commitment to quality.
As Geetanjali International continues to innovate and expand, it remains a testament to how traditional Indian craftsmanship can thrive in a modern, international marketplace.
