A pair of identical twins from Bal Bharti School, Brij Vihar in Ghaziabad, scored identical marks in the Class 12 exams.

Swati Jain and Stuti Jain said the CBSE result came as a sweet shock and calls from relatives and family friends were pouring in to congratulate them. The twins scored 96.4% each.

The 17-year-old girls, who are set to celebrate their birthday on May 29, say while they expected a good result they never thought they would get similar marks.
“We are from the same stream and used to study together and share our notes, although while we were confident of a good result, identical total is not something we expected,” said Stuti.

While Stuti scored 99 in chemistry, 98 in Computer and 95 in English, Maths and Physics, Swati scored 98 in Maths, 97 in Chemistry and Computer and 95 in English and Physics.

The twins, residents of Rampuri in Surya Nagar, said that while their school and teachers had been of great help in achieving their target, the constant encouragement from parents helped them. “On an average, we used to study for almost 10 hours and in spite of family functions, we would make sure we never skipped our studies,” said Swati.

“Our aim is to pursue computer science and become software engineers and we plan to join the best colleges. We look forward to working with each other in future,” said Stuti.
