2 senior journalists to get awards today

The Chhattisgarh State Public Relations Directorate will be organising a `Special Ceremony` on the occasion of great literary figure Pandit Madhav Rao Sapre’s  birth anniversary on Friday in the city at New Circuit House here. Chief Minister Raman Singh will be the chief guest at the function. Culture and Tourism Minister Dayaldas Baghel will preside over the function.

State Public Relations Directorate Commissioner Ganesh Shankar Mishra said that the Chief Minister will present `Pandit Madhav Rao Sapre Rashtriya Rachanatmkta Samman 2014` award to renowned writer and journalist Ram Bahadur Rai. The award is instituted by the Chhattisgarh State Public Relations Directorate. The Chief Minister will also present ` Chandulal Chandrakar Smruti Patrikarita Puraskar 2014` to Raipur-based journalist John Rajesh Paul.

It may be mentioned here that it will be the first `Rashtriya Rachanatkmakta Samman ` award in the name of Pandit Madhav Rao Sapre instituted by State Government. The award money is Rs 2.50 lakh.
