Over one lakh piped gas connections added in NCR

Over one lakh new connections for piped natural gas were added in the National Capital Region by Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) in the past financial year, the company said in a statement here on Thursday.

A total of 1,01,285 PNG connections were added in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad during the financial year 2014-2015. This takes IGL’s total connections in the NCR to 5.60 lakh. In the financial year 2013-2014, the company managed to give 72,771 new connections.

IGL managing director Narendra Kumar said the company had set a record and would continue to work towards further expanding the network.

“The number of PNG connections provided by IGL in 2014-15 is the highest among all city gas distribution companies in the country in a financial year,” the statement said.

Mr. Kumar said IGL was committed to maintaining highest level of safety standards in its operations and appealed to all the customers to strictly follow the safety precautions as disseminated by IGL from time to time.
