GIMS–CMI Joins India–Europe Healthcare Innovation Dialogue at AIIMS New Delhi

Greater Noida News (08/02/2026): The Centre for Medical Innovation (CMI) at GIMS participated in a high-level India–Europe healthcare innovation dialogue held at AIIMS New Delhi, bringing together leading policymakers, clinicians and innovators from India and the European Union. The interaction took place at the CMIE BioIncubator, a national hub for medical and health innovation, under the leadership of Dr. S. Srinivas, Director, AIIMS New Delhi.

The European Union delegation was led by Maria Cristina Russo, Deputy Director-General, DG Research and Innovation, European Commission. The dialogue focused on strengthening collaboration between India and Europe in the field of healthcare innovation, research and technology-driven medical solutions.

GIMS–CMI was specially invited by AIIMS New Delhi to participate in this strategic engagement, along with a select group of startups from its innovation ecosystem. For GIMS, a state government medical institution, the invitation is being seen as a notable acknowledgment of its clinician-led and institution-driven innovation model at both national and international levels.

GIMS–CMI was represented by Dr. Rahul, Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Medical Innovation, who took part in discussions and interactions during the event. Startups supported by the GIMS–CMI ecosystem showcased healthcare solutions that have been designed and validated in India, addressing real-world clinical challenges faced by public healthcare systems.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rahul said that the engagement marked both an opportunity and a recognition for the innovation ecosystem developed at GIMS with the support of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. He noted that participation in such a high-level India–Europe dialogue highlights the growing importance of clinician-driven innovation emerging from state government medical institutions.

The participation of GIMS–CMI in the India–Europe healthcare innovation dialogue is being viewed as an important milestone for the institute and a reflection of India’s expanding role as a credible and collaborative partner in the global healthcare innovation landscape.
