Government assures relief and rehabilitation measures for Manipur violence victims

Imphal, 13th June 2023: CM N Biren Singh offered support to the people suffering from the ongoing ethnic violence in the state. Assuring the people in the state, the leader made crucial social developments and guaranteed houses for the displaced and education arrangements for students as hundreds continued to be in relief camps post-violence.

This comes as the official records show over 47,000 people have been evacuated in the violence-torn situation, and hundreds of people lost their homes, which were gutted in the violence. CM Singh added that the state government will start building homes and ‘l stand shoulder to shoulder with the people.’

The leader confirmed the administration’s plan to build nearly 4000 2BHK houses for the affected citizens. He also ensured educational provisions for the students whose academics were being impacted due to the violence in the state.

He confirmed that the people displaced from the Churachandpur area and those living in the refugee camps in the capital city of Imphal are being sent to schools and colleges in the city.

An increasing number of people are being displaced from their houses and are currently in temporary shelters in camps. Many people have also complained of losing important documentation, especially Aadhaar cards.
