New Delhi(03/11/2019): Pollution in Delhi is at a state never witnessed ever before. Concerned about the reasons that are behind this, Ten News interacted with few delhiites and recorded their opinions regarding the hazardous situation of Pollution in Delhi.

The air pollution levels in Delhi made a huge jump this morning, going deeper into the “emergency” zone.

Today, the Air Quality Index or AQI rose to 625, reducing visibility significantly and hampering air and road traffic in the city.

Speaking to Ten News, young working females shared their personal opinions regarding the issue and the only common aspect that was noticed among them which was ‘lack of public transportation in the city’.

“Government officials are blaming farmers who are leading with stubble burning of parali likewise every winter but is unaware of the fact that they are not happy to do that but due to the lack of facilities provided by government to treat parali, they have no choice other than burning it!”, added a girl while speaking to Ten News.

The situation in the surrounding townships was no better — Noida shut all schools till Tuesday. Delhi is expected to begin its odd-even road rationing scheme from tomorrow. But there was no word from Punjab or Haryana, where stubble burning by farmers triggers a crisis in Delhi and adjoining areas every winter.

Also on Monday, Top Court is expected to take up a report from the Environment Pollution Control Authority or EPCA, on Delhi air quality and the pollution cased by stubble-burning in the neighbouring states.

The pollution control body has asked the court to issue directions to NCR states to take steps to stop burning of waste, toxic emissions from industries and dust from construction sites.

Also for your information, we would like to share that till today’s morning, 32 flights were diverted from the Delhi airport due to low visibility caused by pollution, airport officials said.
