Greater Noida Authority to demolish all illegal buildings in Shahberi village
Greater Noida: Greater Noida Authority is planning to launch a drive to demolish all the illegal human settlement in Shahberi village under Greater Noida West area. For the same authority, ACEO has also sent a letter to the district administration, urging to ensure law and order situation in the area during the drive. But before demolition, a drive to evacuate all the residents will be conducted to avoid any kind of casualties.
All this action is an outcome of a twin building collapse in July last year, in which nine people lost their life. The incident raised a question against the illegal settlement which got flourished right under the nose of responsible authorities since a decade. As per the officials, there is a total of 400 illegal buildings that will have to be demolished.
ACEO K K Gupta told that “this is not the first time we will be conducting the demolition drive, on every 15 days or in a month we do a review meeting over the issue. As the rainy season is arrived and keeping the last year building collapse incident in mind a letter of the behalf of CEO Greater Noida Authority is written to the district administration. In the letter, we asked the help of the administration for demolition drive as the demolition team faces a massive protest by occupants of buildings.”
Further, he told that “we asked the administration to impose section 144 in the area before the drive and also urged to set up a police picket that will ensure no illegal construction again once the drive gets over. Apart from this there approx 1000 homes which are made on personal plots but without taking a nod from authority. For such houses will we will initiate a drive in the second phase.”
In this whole issue, more than 15 FIR’s got registered and 11 people were sent behind the bars. Earlier five commercial building was also got demolished. For now, registry in that area in completely band to avoid any kind sell and purchase of plots and flats
