Workshop on “UNIX SERVER-Sun Solaris” by Mr. Ajay Singh

Greater Noida, Saturday 13 August, 2016: I.T.S Engineering College, one of the Premier Institution in
the field of Engineering and Management Education organized a guest lecture on “Unix Server” by Mr.
Ajay Singh.
The opening of program was made by welcoming Mr. Singh with a bouquet of flowers by Dr. Ashish
Kumar, HOD-CSE, ITS Engineering College, Greater Noida followed by a introductory speech by Ms.
Mani, Assistant Professor in CSE department who briefed about Mr. Singh. She told that Mr. Singh is a
technologist, consultant and a speaker having rich experience of more than 10 years in IT with a portfolio
of technical and management skills and has expertise in installation, maintenance operations and support
on HP Mid range and High end server and SUN servers. He is presently working as Lead Administrator in
Wipro InfoTech Ltd, Greater Noida where he is presently handling maintenance and implementation of
Telenor India Project. Previously he has worked with various companies like HCL Technology Ltd. Noida,
Hewlett Packard India Sales Private Limited, CMS Info System Private Limited.
He did his B.Tech in Computer Engineering from V.B.S Purvanchal University Jaunpur and is a certified
certified Red Hat engineer on RHEL4.0. His other certifications include CSA-HP- UX 11iv3, Administration
for solaris 10SA-1 and had training on various technologies like HP3 PAR Technology, VCS/Vxvm in HCL
Technology, SUN Solaris, SAN and Storage solutions, Oracle 9i/10g and SCO UNIX.
Mr. Singh started his talk explaining about Sun Solaris and UNIX Server. The he elaborated on
requirement and properties of UNIX Server, various benefits of using UNIX Server taking example of
Maruti Company. He compared various versions of UNIX and told the participants how automation in
Tape Library is done. He explained in detail how memory is managed in Wipro Server used companies
like Bharti Airtel and Telenor. This was followed by discussion of design and implementation of
applications in UNIX environment. He also told the students how various security concerns in other
platforms are addressed in UNIX environment. He also emphasized on the need of learning various
recent Tools / skills according to need of industry. The participants had hands on experience on various
concepts learnt during the workshop.
The selected B.Tech. 3 rd year students of CSE branch and faculty of I.T.S Engineering College attended
the workshop. It was very prestigious for ITS Engineering College to have such a Dignified and very
Humble Knowledgeable Gentleman and to grasp his views and technical knowledge.
Finally, Dr. Ashish Kumar, HOD-CSE, I.T.S Engineering College gave a Vote of Thanks and Token of
Appreciation to Mr. Ajay Singh.
