Guards Manhandle Foreign Student at Sharda University, Probe ordered!

An alleged incident of racial discrimination and assault of a foreign incident has been reported from Greater Noida’s Sharda University.

The incident came in light after few short span videos were uploaded on a facebook page where many guards can be seen lifting a foreign nationality student and trying to throw him out of the campus.

The student has later been identified as a foreign citizen pursuing BBA at the university, who alleged that that university guards constantly treat him like a suspect even after having a University I card at all times.

After the incident was widely publicized on Social Media, the college authority also sprang into action and seven security personnel were suspended with immediate effect. Marshals Rahul and Prem Raj as well as five guards – Jai Hind, Vikas Singh, Om Prakash, Bhola and Chandel were terminated from duty.

These private guards were hired by Sharda University by Armour Security Agency.

Taking cognizance of the matter District Magistrate has ordered an enquiry which will be conducted by SP(RA) Greater Noida Suniti and ADM ( E) Kumar Vineet. Gautam Buddha Nagar SSP Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma also said that a probe has been ordered in the case and FIR will be registered as per its findings.

College Authorities on the other hand condemned the incident and called it unfortunate. However this isn’t the first time when students have been roughed up at Sharda University. High handedness of private guards and bouncers is an open secret in Sharda Campus. Many other students have also alleged that such behaviour by private guards are common in the University campus and its only when things get out of hand, the administration intervenes.
