Guest Lecture on “Pneumatic System “Pneumatic System : The Future of Industrial Automation” by Mr. Volker Schmid in ITS Engg. College

Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an expert lecture on “Pneumatics Systems-The future of Industrial Automation” by inviting Mr. Volker Schmid, Head Asia Pacific, Festo on 24^th November, 2014. The director Dr. Vineet Kansal, Head of Mechanical Department Prof.Sanjay Yadav were present along with Dr.Sanjay Mishra and Prof. Manvendra Yadav to welcome him.

Mr. Volker elaborated that due to its affordable, clean, compact and durable power, the pneumatics systems find wide application in Automation Equipment. Automation is a rapidly expanding field and in a developing country like India, there are immense growth opportunities for an individual because starting from waste and water management to any production assembly line, there is a need for control & automation systems. He further said that the Indian market for automation is evolving rapidly. Mr. Volker stated that in order to meet the growing demand and for more flexibility the industries require trained people in these areas. He suggested to the gathered faculty members and students to adopt an interdisciplinary approach for solving the actual need of the modern industries. The lecture was extremely useful for both the students and faculty members.
