Haryana witnesses first Film Festival in Faridabad, INDOGMA Film Festival provides platform, a boon for short film makers

India, (31/12/2018): People of India are so fond of films that people from no other country in the world can be. However, there are many young talents who do not find an opportunity to display their talent nor they can adopt their talent as their mode of livelihood. One of the major reasons for not getting the right opportunity is not finding the right person to offer an opportunity. For the people in the production and direction, finance may be yet another reason. Due to these reasons producers of short films are not finding any platform to make their presence. In order to help these short film makers, provide a genuine platform, INDOGMA Film Festival 2018 was organised in Faridabad. Brainchild of Actor- Director Mr. Chandan Mehta, a few likeminded people also joined the initiative. Mr. Mukesh Gambhir, a retired bureaucrat, a poet and an expert in Society radio services and Mr. Ashwani Prabhakar, running NGF Engineering and Management College at Palwal joined hands with Mehta to organise the festival for promoting short films and music albums.
In the month of November entries were called from the makers of short films from all over the country. Out of 180 entries of short films and music albums it was a hurricane task for the organisers to select the best out of it. All the entries, after being screened before the jury, 40 were selected for the second round of screening. Mr. Chandan Mehta, Director Indogma Film Festival (IFF) 2018 said that the basis of selecting the entries for final nomination was on the basis of online voting as well as other parameters to be checked by the technical team and the jury. Finally, on 29th December award function was organised at MCF Auditorium Faridabad.
Chief Guest of the evening was Minister of Industries and Pollution, Haryana Shri Vipul Goyal. In his address the minister said that such programs help motivate the young talent. He talked about the film policy recently released by the state government. He informed that as per the film policy of the state, anyone making film to promote film making in Haryana will be awarded with Rs. 2,50,000/=.
The program was taken forward with the effective anchoring of MTV fame Ruby and poet Namita Rakesh. Cultural programs presented by the students of Swar Sadhna institute enhanced the level of entertainment of the program. A fashion show was organised by the students of NGF College.
Many celebrities travelled all the way from Mumbai to witness the event. In the awards ceremony the highlight was maximum number of awards going to a single short film “Iktara” by Shreyas Gupta. Adwait by Rana was also recipient of many awards.
The first prize to a song was awarded to Poorn Pardeshi for his Punjabi musical album ‘Gunah’. ‘Milani” the English film by Shreemali won the first prize in the category of English film. Pushpraj Gunjan also received award for his Bhojpuri music album. Music album “Ram Ki Soon” by Sonotek also received first prize in its category. “Ibadaton ka Sila”, Hindi music album also won first prize in its category.
Jury of the festival included internationally acclaimed Mike Berry, Director Jatinder Sharma, well known Cartoonist Udai Shankar and Director Sanjeev Shukla.
Celebrities who attended the program included TV Artist Aman Verma, Uttar Kumar, Ruma Naina Ghosh, Ruby Mali, Roopchand, Dinesh Sehgal, Shamim Alam to name a few.
Present on the occasion was CEO NGF College Mr. Ashwani Prabhakar, Dr. Sharad Kaushik, BJP leader Rajesh Nagar, Industrialist S.S. Kapoor, Industrialist Mr. Ajay Joneja, and M. L. Goyal etc.
