High rise staff thrashes senior citizens over maintenance complaint

Noida, 15th October, 2022: In a shocking incident, two society staffers allegedly thrashed a 59-year-old resident of a high-rise in Greater Noida (West) on Wednesday night. The incident took place around 7 pm.

Police detained two suspects, a plumber and an electrician from the society’s maintenance team, and filed a case against them based on the victim’s complaint.

The complainant, Pratap Singh, notified the maintenance office about a leaking overhead water tank that needed to be manually closed. Both the plumber, Gaurav, and the electrician, Jatin, were there at the time. They got into a fight with Singh, and he was allegedly beaten with sticks by the accused.

At 7.30 p.m., police received details about the incident, and a team from Bisrakh police station had been whisked away to the scene. When the cops arrived in society, they took the victim to a hospital for treatment who sustained head and back injuries.

The accused, Jatin and Gaurav were apprehended by police in the society. On the basis of Singh’s complaint, a non-cognizable report under Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code was filed against the two suspects.
