Hundreds of AKTU students debarred from exam because of short attendance

(09/05/2017) Greater Noida : There are over 50 engineering colleges affiliated with Abdul Kalam Technical University in Noida and Greater Noida combined. The semester exams for these colleges is scheduled to start from May 12th.
Keeping in view the approaching examination the university has sought list of students having short attendance in the college. The university norms demand an attendance of 75% to be eligible for sitting in end semester examination. However college administration has authority to give a relaxation of 10% to students having valid region.
Now as per the latest report names of around 300 hundred students studying in different colleges has been sent to university. These students may not be able to give their semester examination as there admit cards might not be issued.
The current list has 100 students of GNIOT college, 67 from IEC, 30 each from IIMT and Galgotia, 22 each from Dronacharya and G L Bajaj. There are more students from other colleges as well.
These debarred students will have to now appear in carry over examinations and if they fail to clear semester subjects there, they may have to repeat an academic year in same semester.
