New Delhi(India), 15/08/23: PM Narendra Modi said in his address to the nation from the Red Fort that the Centre will start the Vishwakarma programme on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti, September 17.

With a budgetary allocation of Rs 13,000 crore to Rs 15,000 crore, the program will assist barbers, tanners, blacksmiths, and others

PM Modi stated that the NDA administration is creating more jobs through the MUDRA Yojana and small entrepreneurial initiatives in his 10th straight Independence Day address, which is also his final before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme of the Centre aims to improve the quality, scalability, and reach of artisans’ and craftspeople’s products and services, as well as to integrate them into the local and global value chain.

The initiative would aid in the economic empowerment of workers, particularly those from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Communities, women, transgender people, and other marginalised groups.

He also stated that the government plans to raise the number of ‘Jan Aushadhi Kendra’ (subsidised medication outlets) from 10,000 to 25,000.

He went on to say that India will be one of the top three economies in the next five years. “When we took power in 2014, we were ranked tenth in the global economic system. Today, thanks to the efforts of 140 crore Indians, we have risen to fifth place. This did not happen overnight. We stopped leakages and created a strong economy,” he remarked, referring to the massive amounts of corruption that had the country in its grip.

PM Modi addressed the subject of inflation, emphasising India’s comparably effective management over it. However, he highlighted the importance of additional actions to reduce the burden of inflation on citizens.
