New Delhi: Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday tears into Rahul Gandhi for his continuing falsehoods on Rafale deal and quoting the Supreme Court for observations that were not even made by it. She said that it is contempt of Court.
Addressing the Media at BJP Headquarters, Nirmala Sitharaman said,
“We all know Congress president probably doesn’t even read even half a paragraph, but here, by saying that the court has accepted and by also saying that the court has said ‘Chowkidaar chor hai,’ these verge on contempt of court.”
She further said, “Selective picking of documents was discussed in the SupremeCourt, which were published in the paper Rahul Gandhi, who is himself on bail, is violating every norm of political decency by alleging things which the Supreme Court has never said.
“In September 2019, the Rafale aircraft are coming. That is the truth,” added Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
On the other hand, Congress Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala lashed out on BJP in Rafale deal, and said,
PM Modi’s lies demolished. SC exposed Modi govt. He told lies but finally truth is out. When the information came out in the newspaper, PM threatened to jail journalists on grounds of violating Official Secrets Act.
