New Delhi (India), 23rd February 2023: Microsoft Co-founder Bill Gates expressed in his latest ‘GatesNotes’ blog that, “India gives me hope for the future…as it has proven it can tackle big challenges.”
This post comes ahead of his India visit next week. This will be Gates’ first visit to India after the Covid19 pandemic. He expressed that he was excited about the visit and witness the work being done by innovators and entrepreneurs to tackle issues like hunger, climate change and health.
Bill Gates is an entrepreneur and Co-chair at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He is extremely passionate and sensitive about problems faced by people around the globe and has been known to donate a significant amount of money to charity.
In his GatesNotes blog, he discusses many issues and in his latest post, he acknowledged the growth and strength that India has displayed in recent times. In the same blog, he also touches upon the topics of global health and climate change.
He stated that both these challenges are intricately linked and how in the future due to hit temperatures it would be more difficult to eradicate poverty as issues of hunger and diseases will see an incline and this would divert resources from the people who need it.
He further said that India is the most populous country and to mitigate problems here they have to be resolved at a larger scale. Yet, India has been successful in curbing massive challenges such as HIV transmission, polio, and infant mortality and has increased access to sanitation and financial services. Bill Gates has previously collaborated with public sectors and CGIAR institutions to produce chickpea species that give higher yields and are more drought resistant.
