New Delhi (India), April 12, 2023: India has hit back at China after it opposed Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh, saying that such objections do not change the ground reality.

China had claimed that the visit was a violation of its territorial sovereignty. However, India has always maintained that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of the country.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in a statement that Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India. “Objecting to such visits does not stand to reason and will not change the above reality.” The statement was made after China renamed some places in Arunachal Pradesh that it claims as part of its territory.

At the launch of a village welfare program in Arunachal Pradesh, Shah asserted that India will not allow anyone to encroach on its land. “Now, they cannot even take a pin’s tip worth of our land,” he said.

India’s stance remains unchanged, despite China’s claims over the region.
