Delhi, Sept 15th, 2022: Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy announced on Wednesday that India will have a comprehensive national tourism policy in place in two months.
Reddy said that discussions and meetings for the proposed policy will take place with all stakeholders of tours and travels, organizations, state governments, financial situations, and foreign tour companies as well.
“We will introduce a national tourism policy before the Budget session of the Parliament”, he said.
A mobile app for E-tourist visas, direct air connectivity with major overseas markets, classification of tourist destinations into categories, special tourism zones, and creation of five missions are among provisions stipulated in the draft of the new national policy to ensure sustainable, responsible and inclusive development of tourism.
The Ministry of Tourism has targeted to make India one of the top five travel destinations in the world by the year 2030.
