Informative Seminar and Start-Up Pitching Session organized as part of Dr. Kalam Start-up Parikrama at ITS Engineering College

(21/11/2017) Greater Noida: Under the aegis of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University a seminar and pitching session for start-up ideas by students was organized as part of Dr. Kalam Start-up Parikrama at ITS Engineering College, Greater Noida.
Through an interesting seminar on “Why Investors Say Yes”, eminent speakers shared their insights and vision about the start-up culture, innovations and investor expectations.
Srijan Pal Singh, advisor innovation and start-ups, AKTU delivered an address on Vision of Dr. Kalam for youths and motivated students to be a Job creator instead of a job seeker.
He said, “Financial constraints are of significant importance to define success story of any start-up. Students should have a neat and clean vision regarding innovative aspects of their start-up and its financial viability to scale and grow an idea into a successful product”.
He also encouraged students to use such opportunities for networking and should never shy away from interacting with as many people as possible.
Dr. Vineet Kansal, Dean under Graduate Studies and Entrepreneurship also addressed the seminar and spoke at length about various initiatives of AKTU to boost entrepreneurship in the state. He said, “We have had a very good response during the first edition of Dr. Kalam Start-up Parikrama. We have a student community which is buzzing with great ideas waiting to be shaped and nurtured and this is an efficient platform for the same”.
Surinder Sood, director of Public Relations at ITS Engineering College also spoke about the history of innovations in the world and how India has been a leader in the domain. He also spoke the efforts of ITS institute to encourage students for entrepreneurship. He said, “ITS is not only a college but a learning centre. We encourage students to pursue researches and decipher innovations. We have an entirely student run research facility which has been assisting many student to pursue their dreams”.
ITS Group Advisor Dr. SP Mishra talked about incubation centre and how number of student groups is benefiting from it.
He said, “Our incubation cell is mentoring students who seek to innovate and is helping them to take their ideas and models to the right platform. Our projects have been appreciated and awarded at esteemed institutes such as IIM Indore and one of our innovative products made by group of third and fourth year student has also received seed funding. The institute has very encouraging eco-system for development of start-up’s and interested students are getting benefited though it”.
Founder of a thriving social media community of start-up’s, Shivam Ahuja also shard industry insights and investor friendly tips with the students. Shivam runs a thriving social media interaction platform named Delhi Start-ups and is also a member of investor group Delhi Angels.
In his brief address Shivam talked about various Do’s and Don’ts of entrepreneurship as well as shared necessary requirements to generate funding.
Today’s entrepreneurship promotion event was funded & supported by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow under Dr. Kalam Innovative and Incubation Center initiative. It was the II Edition of Dr. Kalam Start-UP Parikarma which took place at ITS Engineering College.
