Greater Noida/Delhi NCR – 13th October 2023 – The 56th edition of IHGF-Delhi Fair – Autumn and Delhi Fair Furniture 2023 being held concurrently from 12th to 16th October 2023 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida Expressway had a busy second day as buyers from several nations visited for business networking. They have appreciated the new ranges and some have already finalised orders.

Dileep Baid, Chairman, EPCH, said, “some of our buyers are appreciating quality and variety of Indian handcrafted products while some admire how Indian businesses conduct themselves.” Tamra Bryant, a regular buyer from USA who is here to source products of decor, daily use and furniture said, “I am doing business in India since 18 years and I have a first-hand experience in witnessing the major progress in the sophistication of Indian vendors. The quality and variety of Indian products has increased over the decade. The makers of the products take significant care of the whole process from manufacturing till exporting.” Another buyer, Susanne from Australia shared her interest in cottons and prints as well as natural dyed silks in flattering and comfortable handcrafted apparel from India. “Australians enjoy good quality products with superior materials and flexibility. So, I am here for exclusives, not looking for mass products,” she emphasised.

R K Verma, Executive Director, EPCH informed that today was also significant with the visit of G.K.Pillai, Chairman RoDTEP Committee (RoDTEP stands for the Remission of Duties or Taxes on Export Products Scheme); and Gautam Ray, Member-RoDTEP Committee, along with Sr. Officers from Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India. They visited the stalls across various product categories from various craft cluster. Thereafter, the Chairman-RoDTEP interacted with the exporters and discussed the reasonably considering remission of duties, based on inputs to be submitted through the relevant data formats circulated amongst member exporters. EPCH has been making representations at the concerned Govt. departments towards remission of these duties on export products, to make them cost-competitive and create a level playing field for them in the global market. The meeting held today on this matter was attended by Dileep Baid, Chairman, EPCH; Naresh Bothra, President, IHGF Delhi Fair Autumn’23 / Furniture Fair’23, Member(s) of Committee of Administration – EPCH O.P Prahladka, Raj Kumar Malhotra, Avdesh Agarwal, Hansarj Baheti, Girish Agarwal, Hemant Juneja, Rajat Asthana, K. L. Ramesh, and Rajendra Gupta prominent member exporters alongwith other prominent member exporters.

The fair was also visited by Rajendra Agrawal, Member of Parliament – Meerut and Manvendra Singh IAS, DM – Moradabad.

Naresh Bothra, President, IHGF Delhi Fair Autumn’23 / Furniture Fair’23 informed that seminars with expert faculty were held today and were well-attended by member exporters and their personnel. The seminar on Leveraging International Multi-Modal Transportation to optimize Supply Chains with senior expert on Global Supply-Chain, International Shipping & Integrated Logistics Solutions was on global competitiveness of cargo through multimodal logistics solutions; correct use of right incoterms; ocean freight management; analysing the cost factors in multi-modal transportation; and understanding supply chain efficiency. Another seminar on Embracing tomorrow’s Aesthetics: Upcoming Decor & Furniture Trends was taken up by a speaker from a US based fashion forecasting agency and consultant from Germany. These were illustrative and very informative for the attendees.

Export Promotion Council for the Handicrafts is a nodal organization for promotion of exports of handicrafts from the Country and create brand image of magic of the gifted hands of millions of artisans and crafts persons engaged in production of home, lifestyle, textiles, furniture, and fashion jewellery & accessories in craft clusters of the Country. The overall Handicrafts exports during the year 2022-23 was Rs. 30,019.24 Crores (US $ 3,728.47 Million) informed R. K. Verma, Executive Director – EPCH.
