New York (USA), 9th May 2023: IT and Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited Google CEO Sundar Pichai on Tuesday at Google headquarters in California, the United States. In a tweet, Vaishnaw stated that he and Pichai discussed about India Stack and ‘Make in India’.
“I met Sundar Pichai at the Google HQ .Good discussion on India Stack and Make in India program,” the minister tweeted. The minister also attached a photograph of him shaking hands with the Indian-origin CEO.
In the picture, the two men are seen shaking hands against the backdrop of the Google logo. The wall also had a welcome message displayed for Vaishnaw that read, “Welcome to Google, Hon’ble Minister Vaishnaw”
This was the second time the two had met. When Pichai visited India for the ‘Google for India 2022’ event in December last year, he met Vaishnaw as well as Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Following their conversation, Pichai had thanked the prime minister for the “great meeting” he had with him.
PM Modi had also tweeted about the meeting, and said, “Was a delight to meet you Sundar Pichai and discuss innovation, technology and more. It is important the world continues to work together to leverage tech for human prosperity and sustainable development.”
