J&K: Two jawans injured as encounter between security forces and terrorists is underway in Bandipora district

Srinagar, Dec 29: On Thursday morning, encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists at Shahgund Hajin in Bandipora District in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). According to Aaj Tak channel, there are two terrorists. According to Times Now report, two army officers have been injured. The area has been cordoned off and 2 terrorists are believed to be hiding.

The incident took place this morning when terrorists attacked a search party. The condition of injured jawans were stated to be stable.  According to PTI, acting on specific intelligence input about the presence of militants in Shahgund village of Hajin area of the district, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation and as the forces were conducting the search operation, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.

Top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Abu Bakr was killed in an encounter with security forces in Sopore town of Jammu and Kashmir on December 14.
